We decided it would be fun to keep a blog for our out-of-state family and friends to enjoy, mostly for keeping up with Benjamin! We'll try to update it at least once a month.
We're already having a fun summer with Ben. He is 7 months old now, turning 8 months on the 18th! He LOVES the water, so we try to let him play in it a lot, between friends' pools and the kiddie pool we bought. Here he is in his kiddie pool, and then the other photo is of us at a swim party that our community group leaders hosted this past Sunday.

He is into everything...he crawls everywhere in the house, so we've got a baby gate and plug-in covers, and we try to remember to shut the bedroom and bathroom doors. For some reason, when he goes into the bathroom, he likes to pull himself up on the toilet and bite the seat! Gross! I'm not a terrible housekeeper but still... So yes, he's pulling himself up, which means we have to keep a constant eye on him since his balance and abilities are not as high as his curiousity! His doctor warned us that he could walk as early as 9 months, which we are hoping will NOT happen! He's growing way too fast.

Bryan has a lot of fun with Ben - they growl at each other, tumble around on the floor, play peek-a-boo. Ben likes it when I sing to him (I'll enjoy this while it lasts!) and play ball, or read to him. Right now his favorite book is "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" I think he likes all the different sounds.
As I'm wrapping up our first blog, Ben is currently inspecting my placemats and coasters that I keep stored on the bottom shelf of the baker's rack in the dining room. At least nothing is breakable! He loves banging the coasters on the tile floor. He loves banging anything on anything!

Funny about him enjoying your singing, for now. My kids loved it when I sang to them...until they got older. Now, even Billy tells me to stop. Yikes! Not fair. Love ya, Beena!
