"Five Things" Friday

We've had a really difficult week in our household.  So there are not many pictures this time around.

1.  Our kitty, Patsy, died last Friday.  We had her for 14 years.  I should say, I had her for 14 years.  Or rather, she had me.  I had her for three years before I ever met Bryan, then she met and "approved" of Bryan, so we got married (cat owners, you understand how the cat's approval is necessary for these matters).  Then we had our babies, which Patsy did not approve of, but eventually she came to realize that they were handy for giving her unsolicited and excessive amounts of treats, so she accepted/tolerated them.  I'm working on a post for just the kitty, hopefully to be published early next week.  We miss her so much.

2.  Bryan came down with strep throat on Sunday, and had the worst of it on Monday.  NOT fun to have a sick hubby/daddy.  He has not been this ill in a long time.

3.  I came down strep throat on Monday night, and had the worst of it on Tuesday.  NOT fun to be a sick wife/mommy!!  I have not been this ill in a long time.

4.  It really, really stinks to be both very sick (see #s 2 and 3) and very sad (see #1) at the same time.  But going through it all at the same time with my sweet hubby does make it a little bit better.

5.  A positive thing!!  Our boys are NOT (yet) sick. We are praying they remain healthy. Also (maybe this could be #6) I was reminded once again how wonderful my hubby is in these tough times.  He remains positive, helpful, loving -- he never gets mopey or complains.  I took care of boys and home on Monday while he had to stay in bed (because he truly could not get up), then on Tuesday when it was my turn to be so ill I couldn't get out of bed -- thankfully, he was feeling much better then -- he took care of boys and home.

I found this photo on the camera...apparently while Mama was sick in bed, the boys still had some fun!  I'm so glad that they were not daunted by all the sickness and sadness of their parents!

Oh Kim, I'm so sorry to hear about Patsy. I remember her back in our college days.
Glad you guys are feeling better...what a tough week.
