First Haircut

Our little man took his first steps last week, on the 17th of September. Then he turned 11 months on the next day! I can't believe that he'll be a year old within a months' time. Bryan and I feel we are embarking on a new phase of parenthood -- birthday parties. We actually decided to have one for Benjamin, something we didn't think we'd do since our families are all out-of-state. Hopefully it will remain as simple as we'd like it to be - though the invitations are already not as simple as I'd hoped; Mommy wanted to make them herself, using her stamps and pretty papers...so of course it's taking much longer than I'd hoped!

I digress. Ben hasn't tried walking anymore since last week, at least not on his own. He's pushing chairs and anything else he can find to make himself remain upright, and he likes to walk while holding onto our fingers. Such a cute little dude!!

He also received his first hair cut last Saturday! He was growing quite the mullet, so we had to fix that, seeing as how it isn't the 80's anymore. :) He didn't enjoy the haircut too much; he didn't like it when Daddy had to hold his head so he could run the clippers through. Benjamin is not into any type of confinement whatsoever...he likes his freedom!! But he did survive the haircut and now he looks more like a little boy than he does a baby. Mommy is sad over this, but Daddy thinks it's pretty cool.
